here are a couple of pics of a pumpkin i carved yesterday afternoon. it took me almost 5 hrs to complete it. i created the design using several filters in photoshop to get the desired shadow effects needed to create a usable cutting pattern.

Yesterday was very interesting. I went to Mountain Ridge Junior High to teach students taking a flash animation class how to make stop motion animations. They used modling clay or legos. The group of kids I worked with created a short film using some of my star wars lego figurines. Because of the time constraints they were unable to finish compiling their photos or adding their audio effects (which they all created themselves). I'm not sure how our actual teaching was, but I think everyone, myself included, had a lot of fun working together. The kids were 8th grade students and were suprisingly focused on their task at hand. We plan on having their videos compiled for thursday when other students from the TTE major go to the same school, so we can have them take the students videos back to the junior high for them to see the final products.

I've been enjoying myself more this semester than I think I've ever had here at BYU. I think it has something to do with finally finding a major focusing on things that I enjoy and things I want others to enjoy with me. Teaching should be a lot of fun, and I hope I can do well enough now so I can be an effective teacher.

By the way, the picture of the Koi fish here was created in Adobe Photoshop in combination with Adobe illustrator. I think that it's awsome. What do ya'll think?
